Portland Rifle & Pistol Club
A member-owned indoor range in Northeast Portland — dedicated to safe, organized shooting, education, and competition for more than seventy-five years.
A Portland institution, quietly in its work.
PRPC was chartered to encourage organized rifle and pistol shooting — to host competitions, to educate the public in the safe handling of small arms, and to give the shooters of Oregon a place of their own. Three-quarters of a century later, that charter still describes the club.
The doors, the range, the teams, and the traditions have been carried forward by members — one relay, one match, one Saturday morning at a time.
An indoor range built for precision shooting.
PRPC is organized around bullseye pistol, smallbore rifle, and the disciplines that grew up alongside them. It is not oriented to defensive or "action" shooting — drawing from a holster is not permitted, and the club does not host centerfire rifle or shotgun matches.
- 50-foot indoor range
- Air guns, rifles, and pistols in .22 long rifle, or non-jacketed pistol loads with muzzle velocities below 900 fps.
- Jacketed pistol lanes
- Two 21-foot bullet-trap lanes accommodate jacketed pistol rounds.
- 24-hour member access
- The range is open to members around the clock. Between 9 PM and 9 AM, only air guns and rimfire are permitted.
- What we do not host
- No muzzle loading, no center-fire rifle cartridges, no shotguns. Members are pointed to Tri-County Gun Club for those disciplines.
- Teams & Juniors
- Weekly practice and competition in Bullseye Pistol and Smallbore Rifle, plus a sponsored Juniors Program for shooters ages 10 to 20.
- Membership
- Prospective members submit an application and are contacted to discuss the vetting process.
One range, many disciplines.

The Bullseye tradition, kept alive.
Our Pistol Team practices weekly on the indoor range and competes in Bullseye Pistol matches through the season. New shooters are welcome to observe a relay before joining.

Smallbore rifle, shot for score.
Precision rimfire rifle on paper targets — a discipline that rewards fundamentals, patience, and the slow accumulation of skill. The Rifle Team practices and competes year-round.

The next generation of shooters.
PRPC sponsors a Juniors Program for rifle shooters between the ages of 10 and 20 — teaching safety, marksmanship, and the quiet discipline of the sport under the guidance of experienced club members.

Practice, coaching, competition.
Members shoot alongside coaches and teammates on the club's indoor lanes — from first relays to seasoned match shooters. Instruction is informal, generous, and part of the culture.
Members, not customers.
PRPC is run by its members. Teams practice together, juniors learn from their elders, and the range is kept up by the people who use it. What you see here are photographs from ordinary weeks at the club.

Apply to join the club.
PRPC membership is open to prospective shooters who share the club's values of safety, discipline, and stewardship. To begin, submit an application. A member of the board will contact you to discuss the vetting process and arrange a visit to the range.
